What the Keyword Metrics checks
Paste a list of keywords and get each one's monthly Google searches, difficulty, cost per click and yearly trend, sorted into easy wins, blog topics and keywords worth bidding on.
- Up to 100 keywords at a time, pasted one per line, with repeats merged
- Estimated monthly searches, keyword difficulty from 0 to 100 and search intent for each keyword
- Cost per click and the top-of-page bid range advertisers pay in Google Ads
- How searches changed over the last year, to find topics that are growing
- Keywords sorted into easy wins, blog topics and keywords worth bidding on, with the ones that have no data listed apart
What it does not do
- Finding new keywords; use Keyword Research for that
- More than 100 keywords in one run
- Keywords ranked outside the country you choose
- Exact search counts; volumes and difficulty are estimates
- Rank tracking for your own site
Questions about the Keyword Metrics
- How many keywords can I check at once?
- Up to 100 in one run, one per line. Repeats are merged, and a keyword shorter than 3 or longer than 80 characters is left out. Split a longer list into parts and run each one.
- Why does a keyword show no data?
- Google has no monthly search figure for phrases that are rarely searched. Keywords with a symbol such as % $ or + and web addresses are not accepted. A question mark or comma is removed for you. Reword the keyword or use a broader phrase.
- Where do the search numbers come from?
- From a keyword data provider that estimates how often each phrase is searched in Google each month, by country. The figures are estimates, so use them to compare keywords with each other rather than as exact counts.
- How is this different from Keyword Research?
- Keyword Research starts from one topic and finds the searches around it. Keyword Metrics starts from a list you already have, such as keywords from a spreadsheet or a competitor, and measures each one.
- What happens if none of my keywords has data?
- The run is still charged, because the data provider charges for the lookup, and the report lists every keyword as having no data. A lookup the provider cannot answer at all is refunded. A list with no keyword of 3 to 80 characters is rejected before anything is charged.
- How much does the Keyword Metrics cost?
- 33 credits per run, shown before the run starts. An AI agent can run the same tool over the REST API or MCP with a workspace API key.
