What the Competitor Google Ads checks
Enter a competitor's website to see the Google ads it runs: how many, in which formats, how long each has been showing, and the headlines and descriptions of its longest-running text ads.
- Up to 100 of the most recently shown Google ads that send people to the domain, in every country or the one you choose
- Each ad's format (text, image or video), advertiser account, first and last shown dates and days running
- The headlines, descriptions and landing pages of up to 10 text ads, longest-running first
- How many of the ads are running now and how many started in the last 30 days
- Every advertiser account behind the ads, to spot agencies, regional branches and resellers
What it does not do
- The keywords a competitor bids on; Google does not publish them, and Competitor Keywords shows the searches it ranks for
- What a competitor spends or how its ads perform
- Ads on Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn; use the Meta and LinkedIn ad tools for those
- Every ad in the history; the 100 most recently shown are sampled, and the copy of up to 10 text ads is read
Questions about the Competitor Google Ads
- Which ads does the tool show?
- The ads Google lists in its Ads Transparency Center for advertisers that send people to the domain you enter. Up to 100 of the most recently shown are listed, and the wording of up to 10 text ads is read in full.
- How can I tell which of my competitor's ads work?
- Google does not publish clicks or spend. An ad that has been showing for many months is one the advertiser keeps paying for, so the longest-running text ads come first. Use their promises as a starting point and write your own wording.
- Does it show the keywords a competitor bids on?
- No, Google does not publish them. Competitor Keywords shows the searches a site ranks for in Google, which usually overlap with the topics it advertises on.
- Why were no ads found?
- The site may not run Google ads, may advertise from another domain, or may not show ads in the country you chose. Try the brand's main domain or every country. A run that finds no ads is refunded. A run that finds ads but cannot read their wording is still charged, because the data provider charges for it, and lists the ads without it.
- How much does the Competitor Google Ads cost?
- 15 credits per run, shown before the run starts. An AI agent can run the same tool over the REST API or MCP with a workspace API key.
