AI visibility tools: 19 trackers compared by price
·13 min read
AI visibility tools track how ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google's AI features and other assistants mention and cite a brand. As of October 2026 the cheapest plans cost $27 to $29 a month. Trackerly Lite sells 4,500 credits for $27, enough for about 16 prompts a day on ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and AI Overviews, and OtterlyAI Lite runs 15 prompts daily on 4 engines for $29. SE Visible gives the most answers for the money: 200 daily prompts on 5 engines for $99, which it puts at about 30,000 answers a month. LLMrefs includes every engine it lists for $79 a month, and Rankscale puts every engine on every plan, paid in credits. Semrush and Ahrefs sell market-wide views built from their own prompt data, from $99 and $199. Platforms that add content or crawler tools start at $250 with Scrunch, and Profound quotes its only plan after a demo. If you only need a snapshot, HubSpot, Semrush and Ahrefs each offer a one-time check at no charge.
Prices come from each vendor's own pricing page, in US dollars, as of October 2026. Answer counts are the vendor's own where it states one. Otherwise they're our arithmetic from the prompts and engines on the plan.

What an answer costs on each plan
Entry prices hide how much each plan collects. One prompt run once a day on 4 engines makes about 120 answers a month, so this table divides each plan's price by the answers it collects. Where the vendor gives no count, we assumed every prompt runs once a day on every engine on the plan.
| Plan | Price a month | Answers a month | Cost an answer |
|---|---|---|---|
| SE Visible Basic | $99 | About 30,000, per SE Visible | About a third of a cent |
| Trackerly Lite | $27 | 4,500 on Gemini, Claude or DeepSeek, or 2,250 on ChatGPT | 0.6 to 1.2 cents |
| OtterlyAI Lite | $29 | About 1,800 | About 1.6 cents |
| Goodie Core | $295 billed annually | About 16,500 | About 1.8 cents |
| HubSpot AEO | $50 | 2,500, per HubSpot | 2 cents |
| Rankscale Pro | $99 | Up to 4,800 on ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Mode or AI Overviews | About 2 cents |
| Peec AI Starter | $95 | About 4,500 | About 2.1 cents |
| Scrunch Core | $250 | 5,000, per Scrunch | 5 cents |
| Writesonic Starter | $79 billed annually | About 1,500 | About 5 cents |
| AthenaHQ Starter | $295 | 3,600 on ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot or Google's AI features | About 8 cents |
| MentionChecker | $17 for a 100-credit pack | 100 | 17 cents |
| seogeoaeo.ai AI Answer Visibility | $29 for 2,000 credits | 48, from 16 runs | About 60 cents |
LLMrefs, Presence Scout and Mangools run prompts weekly and don't say how many answers that makes. Knowatoa doesn't publish its question limits, and Am I on AI doesn't say how often it scans. Semrush, Ahrefs and Profound sell reports built on their own prompt sets rather than a count of answers, so they're left out.
Cheap answers aren't the whole story. A single answer is a sample, as why ChatGPT gives different answers explains, so many answers on the engines your buyers use beat a few answers on every engine. Whether you can open the full answer and see what it cites matters as much as the price.
Daily tracking under $100
OtterlyAI Lite costs $29 a month for 15 prompts run daily on ChatGPT, AI Overviews, Perplexity and Copilot, with unlimited team members and brands. Gemini and AI Mode cost $9 a month each on Lite and Claude $29, and the API and MCP server start at Standard, $189 for 100 prompts. Our OtterlyAI alternatives guide covers its add-ons.
HubSpot AEO costs $50 a month, or $45 billed annually, for 25 prompts run daily on ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity, with a 28-day trial. You don't need another HubSpot plan to buy it. Our HubSpot AEO Grader guide covers both the paid tool and the one-time grader.
Peec AI Starter costs $95 a month, or $80 billed annually, for 50 prompts run daily with unlimited users. You choose 3 engines from its defaults, which include Gemini and AI Mode. Our Peec AI alternatives guide compares it in detail, and Peec AI vs Profound compares it with the best-known enterprise platform.
SE Visible, SE Ranking's AI tracker, costs $99 a month, or $79 billed annually, for 200 prompts refreshed daily on ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Mode, Perplexity and AI Overviews. That's the most daily answers per dollar here, and SE Visible says it collects them through each assistant's browser interface, not its API. There is a 10-day trial.
Writesonic Starter costs $79 a month billed annually and tracks ChatGPT, Gemini and AI Overviews, alongside 15 AI articles and 10 site audits of up to 100 pages a month, for 1 user. Read the answer counts closely. Starter lists 50 answers a day for 50 prompts, one per prompt, while Basic, at $199 billed annually, lists 300 answers a day for 100 prompts, one per prompt on each engine.
Weekly tracking for less
Presence Scout Starter costs $29 a month for 50 prompts on ChatGPT, AI Overviews, AI Mode and Perplexity. Prompts re-check weekly, and you can run a check by hand at any time.
LLMrefs costs $79 a month, a price its page marks as limited time, with a 7-day trial. You enter SEO keywords instead of prompts, and it writes the prompts for you, up to 500. Every engine it lists is included with no add-on fees: ChatGPT, ChatGPT Search, AI Overviews, AI Mode, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, Grok, Copilot, Meta AI and DeepSeek. Reports refresh weekly, and the plan includes unlimited team members and projects, CSV exports and API access.
Mangools AI Search Watcher Pro tracks 500 prompts weekly on ChatGPT, AI Overviews, AI Mode, Gemini, Claude, Grok, Llama and Mistral. It asks each prompt twice on every update, because smaller brands often appear in one answer and not the next. Mangools sets prices by country, and its pricing page says plans start at $34.90 a month billed annually, with API and MCP access on its AI plans. A plan at no charge tracks 5 prompts, and Mangools refunds in full within 48 hours of payment.
ChatGPT and Google on the entry plan
Knowatoa Starter costs $59 a month for ChatGPT, AI Overviews and AI Mode, and Growth, $199, adds Claude, Gemini, Meta AI and Perplexity along with the API, MCP server and Looker Studio connection. Its FAQ says answers are analyzed daily, and every plan includes a weekly digest of what changed. You can track any number of sites, which share one question limit, but the pricing page doesn't say what that limit is.
Am I on AI Pro costs $100 a month for up to 150 prompts on ChatGPT and AI Overviews, with citation data and recommendations, and a 7-day trial. Prism, $349, tracks up to 750 prompts across 5 audience segments. Its homepage lists weekly reports, but the pricing page doesn't say how often prompts are scanned.
Every engine, paid in credits
Rankscale puts every engine it tracks on every plan and charges per run instead. Pro costs $99 a month for 1,200 credits, where an answer from ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Mode or AI Overviews costs 0.25 credits and one from Claude 1 to 4. Its MCP server works on every plan, and the REST API starts at Pro+, $229. Rankscale paused Perplexity tracking through its app on October 12, 2026. Our Rankscale guide works out how far the credits go.
AthenaHQ Starter costs $295 a month, or $245 billed annually, for 3,600 credits on 11 models, with unlimited seats. An answer from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot, AI Overviews or AI Mode costs 1 credit, and one from Claude, Grok, DeepSeek, Meta AI or Mistral costs 5. Our AthenaHQ alternatives guide compares it with the other credit-based trackers.
Trackerly Lite costs $27 a month for 4,500 credits, and you choose the engines and how often each group of prompts runs. An answer from Gemini, Claude or DeepSeek costs 1 credit, ChatGPT or AI Overviews 2, Perplexity 4 and AI Mode 5. Its FAQ lists those 7 engines as of November 2025. Growth costs $97 for 42,000 credits and adds the REST API, and every plan has a 7-day trial.
Market-wide views from SEO suites
The Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit costs $99 a month per domain, with no trial, and each user needs their own license. It tracks 25 prompts you write, with 50 more for $60 a month, and adds weekly brand reports built from Semrush's own prompt data. Semrush's knowledge base lists different engines for each report. Our Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit guide sets them out.
Ahrefs Brand Radar costs $199 a month for one AI platform and $699 for all of them, which includes 2,500 custom prompt checks. Its main index runs People Also Ask questions from Ahrefs' keyword database and weights each answer by the searches behind the question, which a list of prompts you wrote can't do. Chatbot data in that index refreshes monthly. Our Ahrefs Brand Radar guide covers the custom prompt plans.
Platforms with content and crawler tools
Scrunch Core costs $250 a month for 125 prompts and 5,000 answers a month on ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews and Copilot, with 5 seats, site audits, AI crawler traffic and a 7-day trial. That's about one run of each prompt every 3 days. Claude, Gemini and AI Mode need Enterprise. Our Scrunch AI guide covers its plans.
Goodie Core costs $295 a month billed annually, or $354, for 110 prompts run daily on 5 engines, with unlimited seats and agents that draft content and suggest fixes. Its MCP server reads data but doesn't change it. Our Goodie AI alternatives guide covers the rest.
Profound shows no price for brands. Its 7-day trial runs 50 prompts it picks, daily, on ChatGPT, Gemini and AI Overviews, and the only plan after that is Enterprise, quoted on a demo call. Enterprise covers up to 9 engines, an API and an MCP server, with SOC 2 Type II and HIPAA for security reviews. Our Profound alternatives guide compares the platforms in this group.
Pay per answer with no subscription
MentionChecker sells credit packs with no subscription. One credit is one answer from one engine, and the 100-credit pack costs $17, enough for 25 questions on ChatGPT, AI Overviews, Gemini and Perplexity. If you check a set of questions every few weeks, it costs less than a monthly plan.
One-time checks at no charge
HubSpot's AI Search Grader scores a brand out of 100 from what ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini say about it, with sentiment worth 40 of the points. HubSpot says the answers come from the models' training data, so the grader can't show which pages they would cite today.
Semrush's AI Visibility Checker allows 3 checks a day without an account and returns a score, mentions, citations and the most cited pages for a domain. Ahrefs' AI Visibility Checker needs no signup and returns mentions, the top 5 topics and the domains and pages cited across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot and AI Overviews. Both are samples of their paid products. Run one before you decide whether tracking is worth paying for.
Mangools' AI Search Grader scores a brand from 0 to 100 on visibility and ranking. Its FAQ says it analyzes seven AI models but lists six, and they're smaller API models such as GPT-5 Nano, Claude Haiku 4.5 and Gemini 2.5 Flash Lite. Without an account it asks only GPT-5 Nano, Mistral Small and Llama 3.3.
What pricing pages leave out
- Some engines cost extra. OtterlyAI sells Gemini, AI Mode and Claude as add-ons on every plan. AthenaHQ charges 5 credits for an answer from Claude, Grok, DeepSeek, Meta AI or Mistral. Scrunch keeps Claude, Gemini and AI Mode for Enterprise.
- Schedules aren't always stated. Scrunch's pricing page gives prompts and answers a month but no schedule, and Am I on AI's gives none at all. LLMrefs says its reports refresh weekly, and Ahrefs refreshes chatbot data in its main index monthly.
- Limits and prices aren't always published. Knowatoa doesn't list its question limits, and Mangools shows a different price depending on where you visit from.
- Engines come and go. Rankscale paused Perplexity tracking through its app on October 12, 2026, and Ahrefs said in October that Grok was temporarily unable to gather new data. OtterlyAI has paused tracking of ads and shopping results in ChatGPT since September 16, 2026.
- AI answers may quote old prices. Scrunch serves AI crawlers a separate page that still lists older plans, Starter at $300 and Growth at $500, so ChatGPT may quote prices you can't buy. Check the vendor's own pricing page before you budget.
How to pick an AI visibility tool
Start with the engines your buyers use. If they search on Google, AI Overviews and AI Mode matter more than Claude. Then count your prompts. Fifteen prompts cover a few core questions, while a category with many products and competitors can need 100 or more. Decide how fresh the data must be: daily if you're changing pages and want to see the effect, weekly if you report monthly. Check that you can open each full answer and its citations, not only a score. If an agent will read the data, you'll need an API or an MCP server on the plan you buy.
Our guide to LLM visibility tools explains how trackers sample answers and what their metrics mean, and what AI visibility is covers the manual method.
Check one AI answer per run
Our AI Answer Visibility tool asks ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini one question of up to 300 characters, with web search on. For each engine it reports whether the answer names your brand and in what place, whether it cites your site and which URLs, plus the full answer. It lists up to 10 other brands and 10 other domains the answers named and cited. A run costs 120 credits, and you can run it whenever you like.
AI Citation Finder, 160 credits, shows which pages of a site, yours or a competitor's, AI answers cite most, across Google AI Overviews and ChatGPT. OtterlyAI keeps AI crawler analytics for Standard and above, and Goodie keeps it for Enterprise. Our AI Bot Log Analyzer reads a server or CDN access log you paste in and shows which AI crawlers and assistants visit, which pages they read and which requests failed, for 8 credits.
Plans start at $29 a month for 2,000 credits, with every tool in the browser and through MCP or REST. AI Answer Visibility takes one answer per engine, doesn't cover Google AI Overviews and doesn't track answers over time. If you need the same prompts checked on a schedule, any tracker above costs far less per answer.
