7 best Rankscale alternatives in 2026

Updated ·11 min read

Rankscale Pro costs $99 a month for 1,200 credits, and when the credits run out, scheduled runs pause until they renew or you top up at a price Rankscale doesn't publish. The cheaper Essentials plan is yearly only, the REST API starts at $229, and Perplexity tracking through its app has been paused since October 12, 2026. Most people who look for a Rankscale alternative want a fixed number of prompts, more daily answers for the money, or a check when they need one.

Facts here come from Rankscale's own pricing page, changelog and terms, and from other vendors' own pages, in US dollars, as of October 2026. Rankscale shows euro prices with the same numbers to visitors in Europe.

1. seogeoaeo.ai

Best for: a founder, marketer or AI agent who checks what AI answers say when a page ships or a launch goes out, not on a schedule.

AI Answer Visibility asks ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini one question of up to 300 characters, with web search on. For each engine it reports:

  • whether the answer names your brand, and in what place among the brands it names
  • whether it cites your site, and which URLs
  • up to 10 other brands and 10 other domains the answers named and cited
  • the full answer, so you can read what each engine said

A run costs 120 credits for all three engines, so there is no per-engine price to work out. Plans start at $29 a month for 2,000 credits, enough for 16 runs, with every tool in the browser and through MCP or REST.

Why teams choose seogeoaeo.ai

Rankscale reads AI traffic from Search Console and GA4 but not crawler visits. AI Bot Log Analyzer reads a server or CDN access log you paste in, for 8 credits, and shows which AI crawlers and assistants visit, which pages they read and which requests failed.

The same credits pay for the tools around the answer. Brand Narrative Check asks the three engines what your brand is, for 150 credits, and quotes the parts that may not match your home page. AI Question Finder lists the 25 most searched questions Google AI Overviews or ChatGPT answer about a topic, with monthly searches, for 160 credits, which helps you pick the prompts worth tracking anywhere.

Every plan includes both MCP and REST, where Rankscale's REST API starts at $229. A coding agent such as Claude Code or Cursor can run a check after it ships a page and read the result itself. The agents page has the setup.

seogeoaeo.ai vs Rankscale

Feature seogeoaeo.ai Rankscale
Entry price $29 a month for 2,000 credits $17 a month billed yearly on Essentials; $99 monthly on Pro
How you pay 120 credits per question on 3 engines 0.25 to 4 credits per run, by engine and model
Engines ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini Every engine it tracks, Claude, DeepSeek and Meta's model among them
Scheduled runs No Hourly to monthly, per prompt
Run a prompt by hand Yes Yes
Google AI Overviews and AI Mode No Yes
Cost per answer on the main engines About 58 cents on Indie About 2 cents on Pro
Crawler visits Log you paste in, 8 credits Not tracked; AI traffic from Search Console and GA4 in beta
API and MCP Both on every plan MCP, in beta, on every plan; REST from Pro+, $229

You give up tracking over time. AI Answer Visibility takes one answer per engine, doesn't cover Google AI Overviews or AI Mode, and doesn't run on a schedule. If you need the same prompts checked on a schedule, Rankscale or a tracker below costs far less per answer.

2. SE Visible

Best for: a long prompt list checked every day on the main engines.

SE Visible, SE Ranking's AI tracker, costs $99 a month, or $79 billed annually, for 200 prompts refreshed daily on ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Mode, Perplexity and AI Overviews.

  • Strengths: SE Visible puts its plan at about 30,000 answers a month, against at most 4,800 on Rankscale Pro, about six times as many for the same $99.
  • Weaknesses: it doesn't cover Claude or DeepSeek, you can't pick the cadence per prompt, and its API is in beta.
  • Pricing: from $99 a month, with a 10-day trial.

3. OtterlyAI

Best for: a short fixed prompt list at a low, predictable price.

OtterlyAI Lite costs $29 a month, or $25 billed annually, for 15 prompts run daily on ChatGPT, AI Overviews, Perplexity and Copilot, about 1,800 answers a month, with unlimited team members.

  • Strengths: a fixed prompt count, so the bill doesn't depend on which engines a prompt runs on.
  • Weaknesses: Gemini or AI Mode costs $9 more a month and Claude $29. The API and MCP server start at Standard, $189 a month.
  • Pricing: from $29 a month.

Our OtterlyAI alternatives guide covers its other plans.

4. AthenaHQ

Best for: a team that wants credits on 11 models and has a bigger budget.

AthenaHQ Starter costs $295 a month, or $245 billed annually, for 3,600 credits on 11 models. One credit buys one answer from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot, AI Overviews or AI Mode, and Claude, Grok, DeepSeek, Meta AI and Mistral cost 5 credits each, per its credit calculator.

  • Strengths: Grok, Meta AI and Mistral sit on the entry plan, with a flat price per answer on the main engines.
  • Weaknesses: about 8 cents an answer on the cheaper engines, against about 2 cents on Rankscale Pro. Unused credits don't roll over, and the API is a paid add-on.
  • Pricing: from $295 a month.

Our AthenaHQ alternatives guide covers its plans.

5. Peec AI

Best for: daily tracking of 50 prompts with unlimited users.

Peec AI Starter costs $95 a month, or $80 billed annually, for 50 prompts run daily with unlimited users, on 3 engines you choose.

  • Strengths: a fixed prompt count at just under Rankscale Pro's price, with an MCP server.
  • Weaknesses: 3 engines on the entry plan, and API access is listed under Enterprise.
  • Pricing: from $95 a month.

Our Peec AI alternatives guide explains its plans.

6. Presence Scout

Best for: a larger prompt list on a small budget, if weekly checks are enough.

Presence Scout Starter costs $29 a month for 50 prompts on ChatGPT, AI Overviews, AI Mode and Perplexity, checked weekly.

  • Strengths: you can run a check by hand at any time, at a fixed monthly price.
  • Weaknesses: prompts re-check weekly, not daily. API access is on agency pricing only.
  • Pricing: from $29 a month.

7. MentionChecker

Best for: checking a set of questions every few weeks, with no subscription.

MentionChecker sells credit packs with no subscription, where one credit is one answer and credits last 12 months. The 100-credit pack costs $17, the same as a month of Rankscale Essentials, which buys up to 480 answers but requires a year's commitment.

  • Strengths: nothing renews, and four engines come by default, with two more optional.
  • Weaknesses: it doesn't state an API. For anything regular, Rankscale costs less per answer.
  • Pricing: packs from $9.

Rankscale pricing, and when it's still the right choice

Every plan has unlimited search terms, which is what Rankscale calls prompts, and every region and engine. Credits are spent when a prompt runs, not when you create it.

Plan Monthly Billed yearly, per month Credits a month Answers at 0.25 credits Brands Page audits
Essentials Yearly only $17, or $204 a year 120 480 2 10
Pro $99 About $84 1,200 4,800 10 50
Pro+ $229 About $195 3,000 12,000 25 100
Growth $385 About $327 5,500 22,000 50 200
Enterprise $780 About $663 12,000 48,000 100 200

A Custom plan adds SSO, individual credit amounts, an SLA and a success manager, priced by sales. Unused credits carry over up to a cap: your balance can reach twice the monthly allowance on Pro and Pro+, three times on Growth and Enterprise, and Essentials has no rollover. Unlimited seats aren't included on Essentials.

Pro has a 7-day trial "with a limited credit allowance". The page doesn't say how many credits, and the trial is set up through Stripe, so expect to enter a card. The terms add what the pricing page leaves out. Rankscale sells only to businesses, prices exclude VAT, fees paid in advance aren't refunded, and a 12-month plan needs 30 days' notice to cancel.

What a credit buys on each engine

The "answers" counts on the pricing page assume every run costs 0.25 credits. That holds for engines Rankscale reads through their public apps. Models it calls through an API cost more, and some cost more again with web search on.

Engine Credits a run
ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, AI Mode and AI Overviews, read from the app 0.25
DeepSeek 1
Claude, in the pricing calculator 2
Claude Haiku 5.5 1, or 3 with web search
Claude Sonnet 5.5 3, or 4 with web search
GPT-5.6 Terra and GPT-6.1 Sol through the API 1, or 3 with web search
Gemini 3.8 Flash through the API 2, or 4 with web search
Meta Muse Spark 4

The newer model prices come from changelog entries in September and October 2026. Rankscale doesn't publish a price for Copilot, Mistral, the Perplexity Sonar models or Grok.

Here is how far Pro goes. Forty prompts a day on ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Mode and AI Overviews use 1,200 credits a month, all of Pro. Ten prompts a day on Claude Sonnet with web search use the same. DeepSeek and Mistral run without web search, so their answers don't cite live pages. Rankscale's changelog says on October 12 that Perplexity tracking through its app is "temporarily paused" because it hits login walls.

How Rankscale runs prompts

You set the engines and the schedule for each prompt, and you can run a prompt by hand. The pricing page offers hourly, daily, weekly or monthly runs, "with optional bi-cadence", while its credit calculator offers only daily, weekly and monthly. Weekly checks on most prompts and daily checks on a few that matter stretch the credits much further.

Rankscale collects answers both ways. Its Perplexity page says app runs "use our automated browser interface", while API runs "use direct API connections". Either way a single run is a sample, as why ChatGPT gives different answers explains.

Where Rankscale's pages disagree

The home page says "Plans start at $99/month", while the pricing page lists Essentials as "Starting at $20" and then "$17/mo, Yearly only". The pricing FAQ promises "no long-term contracts", while the terms set out 12-month plans with 30 days' notice. Go by the plan table and the terms. Rankscale cites no SOC 2 or ISO certification of its own, only those of Google Cloud, where its data is hosted in Iowa. There is no public DPA or SLA outside the Custom plan.

Who should stay with Rankscale

Rankscale suits a buyer who wants to choose the engine, model and cadence for each prompt and pay only for those runs. A prompt that matters can run daily on six engines while the rest run weekly on two. It's the cheapest way in this group to track Claude, DeepSeek or Meta's model alongside ChatGPT.

Its MCP server, in beta, is the only one here that can create prompts and start runs on the entry plan. It reads brands, citations, sources, sentiment and competitors, and shows the credit cost before a run. Pro connects to Looker Studio and covers 10 brands, which suits a consultant tracking a few clients. Each plan includes page audits, which run rule-based checks on one page, and Rankscale tracks shopping results and ads in ChatGPT, AI Mode and Copilot on Pro and above.
