What the AI Question Finder checks
List the questions people ask Google's AI Overviews or ChatGPT about a topic, or that cite a website, with the searches behind each, the start of the answer and the sources it lists.
- The 25 most searched questions that Google AI Overviews or ChatGPT answer about a topic, or answer with a source on a website, each with its monthly searches
- The start of each answer in plain text and the day it was last seen
- The first five sources each answer lists, and for a website the place its own page takes among them
- The sites listed as sources in the most of those questions, with the share of the questions each appears in
- Google AI Overviews or ChatGPT, one per run, in any of 20 countries or all countries together
What it does not do
- Every question; the provider tracks the ones people ask most, and far fewer on ChatGPT than on Google
- Both platforms in one run; pick one, then run again for the other
- The full text of each answer; only the start is shown
- Exact matches; a short phrase or a single word such as a brand name can return questions that only loosely relate, so use a full phrase
- Whether an AI answer sends visitors to the site
Questions about the AI Question Finder
- Which AI assistants does it cover?
- Google AI Overviews and ChatGPT, one at a time: pick one, then run again for the other. Perplexity, Gemini and other assistants are not tracked. Use AI Citation Finder to see the pages cited across both.
- Does it list every question?
- No. The data provider tracks the questions people ask most, and it tracks far fewer ChatGPT questions than Google AI Overviews. The report lists the 25 most searched of them, and says how many the provider tracks in all.
- Why do I get questions that do not match my phrase?
- The provider matches a phrase loosely, and a short phrase or a single word such as a brand name can return questions that only relate to it. Use a full phrase in your customers' words, such as "standing desk for back pain".
- Can I look up a competitor?
- Yes. Choose a website and enter any public domain, yours or a competitor's. The report lists the questions whose answers list a page on that site as a source, with the place the site takes among the sources, so you can see what it is quoted for.
- What are the searches next to each question?
- The monthly searches for that question, so you can start with the ones people ask most. They are the data provider's estimates, not a count from your own site.
- What happens if nothing is found?
- A lookup that finds the topic or site but no questions is still charged, because the data provider charges for it, and the report says nothing was found. A lookup for which the provider has no record at all is refunded.
- How much does the AI Question Finder cost?
- 160 credits per run, shown before the run starts. An AI agent can run the same tool over the REST API or MCP with a workspace API key.
