7 best Profound alternatives in 2026

Updated ·10 min read

Profound shows no price for brands. After a 7-day trial on 50 prompts it picks for you, the only plan is Enterprise, quoted on a demo call. Most people who look for a Profound alternative want a price they can read before talking to sales, or only need daily prompt tracking.

Prices here come from each vendor's own pricing page, in US dollars, as of October 2026. Engine lists and limits change often, so confirm on the vendor's site before you buy.

1. seogeoaeo.ai

Best for: a founder, marketer or AI agent who checks what AI answers say when a page ships or a launch goes out, without a sales call or a contract.

AI Answer Visibility asks ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini one question of up to 300 characters, with web search on. For each engine it reports:

  • whether the answer names your brand, and in what place among the brands it names
  • whether it cites your site, and which URLs
  • up to 10 other brands and 10 other domains the answers named and cited
  • the full answer, so you can read what each engine said

A run costs 120 credits, under $2 on the smallest plan. Plans start at $29 a month for 2,000 credits, enough for 16 runs, with every tool in the browser and through MCP or REST.

Why teams choose seogeoaeo.ai

The price is on the page, and the same credits cover smaller versions of the parts of Profound people ask about most:

  • For the crawler side, AI Bot Log Analyzer, 8 credits, reads a server or CDN access log you paste in. It shows which AI crawlers and assistants visit, which pages they read, which requests failed, and which visits used a crawler's name from an IP its operator doesn't publish.
  • The robots.txt and AI crawler checker, 10 credits, shows whether GPTBot, ClaudeBot and PerplexityBot may fetch your pages at all.
  • For prompt demand, AI Question Finder, 160 credits, lists the 25 most searched questions Google's AI Overviews or ChatGPT answer about a topic, with monthly searches. A lookup that finds no records is refunded.
  • Brand Narrative Check, 150 credits, asks the three engines what your brand is. It shows each engine's description, tone, strengths, weaknesses and the alternatives it names, with the sources it cited, and flags claims that may not match your home page.

Profound keeps its API and MCP server for Enterprise. Every seogeoaeo.ai plan includes both, so a coding agent such as Claude Code or Cursor can run a check after it ships a page and read the result itself. The agents page has the setup. A run that fails, for example because no engine answered, is refunded.

seogeoaeo.ai vs Profound

Feature seogeoaeo.ai Profound
Entry price $29 a month for 2,000 credits Custom, after a demo
Trying it Smallest plan 7 days on 50 prompts Profound picks
How you pay Credits per run Enterprise contract
Engines ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini Up to 9, including AI Mode, Copilot, Claude and DeepSeek
Daily tracking No Yes
Prompt demand AI Question Finder, 160 credits a lookup Prompt Volumes, from "2B+ real user prompts"
Crawler visits Log you paste in, 8 credits Agent analytics from Cloudflare, Vercel, Fastly and other hosts
Content agents No Yes, drafts for you to approve
SSO, SOC 2 Type II, HIPAA Not listed Yes
API and MCP Both on every plan Both on Enterprise

You give up tracking over time and enterprise coverage. AI Answer Visibility takes one answer per engine, doesn't cover Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, Claude or DeepSeek, and doesn't chart answers day by day. AI Question Finder lists the questions a provider tracks, not Profound's panel of real user prompts. If you need daily tracking on nine engines with SSO and compliance reports, Profound or a platform below is the better buy.

2. AthenaHQ

Best for: a team that wants a Profound-sized model list on a self-serve plan.

AthenaHQ Starter costs $295 a month, or $245 billed annually, for 3,600 credits on 11 models: ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews, AI Mode, Gemini, Claude, Copilot, Grok, DeepSeek, Meta AI and Mistral. One credit buys one answer from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot, AI Overviews or AI Mode, while Claude, Grok, DeepSeek, Meta AI and Mistral cost 5 credits each, per its credit calculator.

  • Strengths: more models than Profound's Enterprise list, with unlimited topics, prompts and competitors within the credits, and CSV export. AthenaHQ's docs say each response opens with its full text, model and citation data.
  • Weaknesses: one region and one language on Starter, and the API costs extra.
  • Pricing: from $295 a month. The Essential plan costs nothing and includes 300 credits on ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews, Gemini and Copilot, enough to test whether the reports suit you.

Our AthenaHQ alternatives guide works out how far the credits go.

3. Scrunch

Best for: AI crawler traffic, much like Profound's agent analytics, at a published price.

Scrunch Core costs $250 a month for 125 prompts and 5,000 answers a month on ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews and Copilot, with 5 seats and 5 site audits a month. Core shows AI crawler traffic from Cloudflare, Fastly, Vercel and other hosts.

  • Strengths: Scrunch's docs say its MCP server works on any plan and can create brands, competitors, personas and prompts, not only read reports, though the pricing table still marks MCP as coming soon. Enterprise adds AXP, a separate version of your site served to AI agents.
  • Weaknesses: 5,000 answers is about one run of each prompt every 3 days. Claude, Gemini, AI Mode and the other engines need Enterprise, and each brand needs its own subscription.
  • Pricing: from $250 a month, with a 7-day trial.

Our Scrunch AI guide covers its plans, including the older ones ChatGPT may quote from the page Scrunch serves to AI crawlers.

4. Goodie

Best for: daily tracking with unlimited seats at a published price.

Goodie Core costs $295 a month billed annually, or $354, for 110 prompts run daily on ChatGPT, AI Overviews, Perplexity, AI Mode and Copilot, for one brand in 2 countries and 2 languages.

  • Strengths: unlimited seats and daily runs on every prompt. Pro, $999 a month, raises that to 250 prompts on 8 models.
  • Weaknesses: Goodie's MCP server is built for lookups and reports rather than edits, and Core tracks one brand.
  • Pricing: from $295 a month billed annually, with a 7-day trial.

Our Goodie AI alternatives guide covers its plans.

5. SE Visible

Best for: the lowest price per tracked prompt, if you looked at Profound for daily tracking alone.

SE Visible, SE Ranking's AI tracker, costs $99 a month, or $79 billed annually, for 200 prompts on ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Mode, Perplexity and AI Overviews, refreshed daily.

  • Strengths: the cheapest of these per tracked prompt. SE Visible says it collects answers through each assistant's browser interface rather than its API, the same approach Profound describes.
  • Weaknesses: its API is in beta, and it has no content agents or crawler analytics.
  • Pricing: from $99 a month, with a 10-day trial.

6. Peec AI

Best for: daily tracking for a team, with unlimited users.

Peec AI Starter costs $95 a month, or $80 billed annually, for 50 prompts run daily, with unlimited users. Peec says it collects answers from each assistant's interface rather than its API, as Profound does.

  • Strengths: unlimited users and an MCP server, on a plan you can buy without a demo.
  • Weaknesses: its plan cards say you choose 3 models, and each extra model costs $35 a month on Starter. Its pricing page lists API access under Enterprise.
  • Pricing: from $95 a month.

Our Peec AI vs Profound comparison goes through the two side by side.

7. OtterlyAI

Best for: the smallest monthly budget for daily tracking.

OtterlyAI Lite costs $29 a month, or $25 billed annually, for 15 prompts run daily on ChatGPT, AI Overviews, Perplexity and Copilot. Adding Gemini or AI Mode costs $9 a month on Lite, and Claude $29.

  • Strengths: unlimited team members on every plan. Standard, $189 for 100 prompts, adds API and MCP access.
  • Weaknesses: 15 prompts is a small set, and engines beyond the four cost extra.
  • Pricing: from $29 a month.

Our OtterlyAI alternatives guide covers its add-ons.

Profound pricing, and when it's still the right choice

Profound's pricing page lists two plans for brands, and neither shows a dollar amount.

Plan Price Prompts Engines Exports and API
Trial No charge for 7 days 50, chosen by Profound, run daily ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Overviews None
Enterprise Custom, after a demo Your own, run daily Up to 9, including Perplexity, AI Mode, Copilot, Claude and DeepSeek CSV, JSON and API

Enterprise adds custom regions and languages, SSO, SOC 2 and a support specialist. Profound's MCP server is for Enterprise customers too. Profound says it captures answers from the browser, so "what you see in Profound is what your customers see".

Agencies get a self-serve plan with 400 credits a month for each client workspace. The pricing page shows no base price for it, and a Profound blog post from November 2025 gave $399 a month per client workspace.

Profound's own comparison with Peec AI points to what it does differently. It has Prompt Volumes, built from what it calls "2B+ real user prompts" from opt-in panels. It has agent analytics that read crawler visits from Cloudflare, Vercel, Fastly and other hosts. Its content agents draft pages for you to approve, and it holds SOC 2 Type II and HIPAA certifications.

Profound is the right choice for a large brand whose security review asks for SOC 2 Type II, HIPAA or SSO, and whose budget can absorb a sales-led contract. Prompt Volumes is its strongest feature. Most trackers make you guess which prompts matter, and Profound estimates how often real people ask them. Agent analytics wired into your CDN, ChatGPT Shopping data and engines such as DeepSeek on one contract also point to Profound. If none of those is a requirement, you are paying for a sales process.
