Peec AI vs Profound: prices, engines and data
·6 min read
Peec AI and Profound both track how ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google's AI features mention and cite a brand, and both say they collect answers from each assistant's interface rather than its API. The main difference is how you buy. Peec publishes self-serve plans from $95 a month for 50 daily prompts, with unlimited users. Profound shows no price for brands: after a 7-day trial on 50 prompts it chooses, Enterprise is quoted after a demo. Pick Peec to start this week on a known budget. Pick Profound if your security review needs SOC 2 Type II or HIPAA, or if you want estimates of how often people ask each prompt.
Each vendor publishes a comparison of the two, Peec's Peec vs Profound page and Profound's Profound vs Peec AI article from April 2026. Both are sales pages, and parts of each are out of date. Facts here come from each vendor's pricing page and docs, in US dollars, as of October 2026, and we note where the two disagree.

Pricing: published plans against a demo call
Peec's pricing page lists every plan except Enterprise. Visitors in Europe see euro prices, such as €85 a month for Starter.
| Peec AI plan | Monthly | Billed annually, per month | Prompts, run daily | Projects |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $95 | $80 | 50 | 1 |
| Pro | $245 | $205 | 150 | 2 |
| Advanced | $495 | $420 | 350 | 5 |
| Enterprise | Custom, billed annually | Custom | Custom | Unlimited |
Each extra model costs $35 a month on Starter, $85 on Pro and $165 on Advanced. Agencies buy credits instead, from $245 a month for 10,000, where one credit is one prompt on one model for one day.
Profound's pricing page lists two plans for brands. The trial runs 50 recommended prompts daily for 7 days on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, in one region and language, with unlimited seats and no exports or API, and you can't change the prompts. Enterprise is priced after a demo. Agencies get a self-serve plan with 400 credits a month for each client workspace, and a Profound blog post from November 2025 gave its price as $399 a month per workspace.
Peec's comparison page prices Profound at $99 for Starter and $399 for Growth, plans Profound's pricing page no longer shows. The same page lists Peec's own prices as €89 and €199, which don't match the €85 and €205 on Peec's pricing page. Use the pricing pages, not the comparison.
Engines and how each collects answers
Peec's default engines are ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, Copilot, Perplexity and Gemini. Its plan cards say you choose 3 models, while its facts page says every plan covers all six, so ask which applies. Extra models include Claude Sonnet, Claude Haiku, DeepSeek, Grok, Mistral, Qwen, Naver AI and Amazon Rufus, and Enterprise covers up to 13.
Profound Enterprise covers up to 9: ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Mode, Gemini, Copilot, DeepSeek, Claude, Google AI Overviews and Exa Search. The trial covers ChatGPT, Gemini and AI Overviews.
Both say they read answers the way a person sees them, not through an API. Peec says it "uses UI scraping, not API polling", and Profound says it captures answers from the browser, so "what you see in Profound is what your customers see". Profound's article says both scrape daily. Peec's page also says Profound may insert location identifiers into its prompts. We couldn't check that from Profound's public pages.
Either way, a daily run is a sample. The same question can get a different answer an hour later, as why ChatGPT gives different answers explains, so watch trends across many prompts rather than one result.
Prompt data, content and crawler analytics
Prompt Volumes is the feature Profound leads with. It estimates how often people ask each prompt, built from what Profound calls "2B+ real user prompts" from opt-in panels. Profound's article says Peec shows only a relative volume score from 1 to 5. That matters when you choose which 50 or 150 prompts to pay for.
Profound's content agents draft pages for you to approve. Peec suggests fixes it calls Actions, and Profound's article says those don't draft content. Peec's own page says it puts less weight on content generation.
Both read AI crawler visits from your hosting. Peec's Crawl Insights connects to Vercel, Cloudflare, CloudFront, Google CDN, WordPress or Akamai, or takes a webhook or CSV upload, and its crawlability check covers more than 40 AI bots. Profound's agent analytics connect to Cloudflare, Vercel, Fastly, Netlify and other hosts, and Profound says it flags visits from fake crawlers.
Security, seats and API access
Profound holds SOC 2 Type II and HIPAA certifications and offers SSO on Enterprise. Peec's comparison page says Profound has SOC 2 and Peec doesn't yet, and Profound's article calls Peec's SOC 2 "in progress". Peec offers SSO on Enterprise.
Peec has unlimited users on every plan. Profound's trial has unlimited seats, and its pricing page doesn't give a seat limit for Enterprise. Peec has an MCP server, mostly read-only, and its pricing page lists API access under Enterprise, though its facts page says API export comes with every plan. Profound's API and MCP server are for Enterprise customers.
Peec AI or Profound: which to choose
Choose Peec AI if you want to start this week without a sales call, on a budget you can read in advance. Unlimited users on every plan suit a team, and Crawl Insights puts crawler visits next to the answers.
Choose Profound if a security review requires SOC 2 Type II, HIPAA or SSO, or if you want prompt volume estimates to decide what to track. Content agents and engines such as DeepSeek and Claude on one contract also point to Profound, if the quote fits your budget.
Choose neither if you need more prompts for less. OtterlyAI Lite costs $29 a month for 15 daily prompts, and SE Visible costs $99 for 200. Our guides to Peec AI alternatives, Profound alternatives and OtterlyAI alternatives compare the rest.
Check one answer before you buy a tracker
Before you pay for daily tracking, check whether the AI answers in your category name you at all. Our AI Answer Visibility tool asks ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini one question of up to 300 characters, with web search on. For each engine it reports whether the answer names your brand and in what place, whether it cites your site and which URLs, plus the full answer. It lists up to 10 other brands and 10 other domains the answers named and cited. A run costs 120 credits.
AI Citation Finder shows how many AI answers cite a website, yours or a competitor's, and which of its pages are among the 25 most cited, across Google AI Overviews and ChatGPT. A run costs 160 credits.
Plans start at $29 a month for 2,000 credits, with every tool in the browser and through MCP or REST. These tools take one reading per run and don't track answers over time. If you need the same prompts checked every day, Peec, Profound or another tracker costs less per answer.
