8 best Scrunch AI alternatives in 2026
Updated ·12 min read
Scrunch AI Core costs $250 a month for 125 prompts on 4 engines, about 5 cents an answer, and each brand needs its own subscription. Claude, Gemini, AI Mode, Meta AI and Grok need Enterprise. Most people who look for a Scrunch alternative want more answers for less, more engines at the same price, or a check when they need one.
Facts here come from Scrunch's pricing page and developer docs, and from other vendors' own pages, in US dollars, as of October 2026. Scrunch has been a Sitecore company since June 2026 and says it will keep running as a standalone platform.

1. seogeoaeo.ai
Best for: a founder, marketer or AI agent who checks what AI answers say when a page ships or a launch goes out, not on a schedule.
AI Answer Visibility asks ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini one question of up to 300 characters, with web search on. For each engine it reports:
- whether the answer names your brand, and in what place among the brands it names
- whether it cites your site, and which URLs
- up to 10 other brands and 10 other domains the answers named and cited
- the full answer, so you can read what each engine said
A run costs 120 credits. Plans start at $29 a month for 2,000 credits, enough for 16 runs, with every tool in the browser and through MCP or REST.
Why teams choose seogeoaeo.ai
Gemini is part of every run. On Scrunch it needs Enterprise.
The same credits pay for the crawler side. AI Bot Log Analyzer reads a server or CDN access log you paste in, for 8 credits, and shows which AI crawlers and assistants visit, which pages they read, which requests failed, and which visits used a crawler's name from an IP its operator doesn't publish. Many AI crawlers read the raw HTML and don't run JavaScript. AI Crawler View fetches a page's raw HTML, renders the same page in a headless browser and shows what exists only after scripts run, such as headings, prices, structured data and internal links, for 8 credits.
Brand Narrative Check asks the three engines what your brand is, for 150 credits, and quotes the parts that may not match your home page. Every plan includes MCP and REST, where Scrunch's REST API needs Agency or Enterprise, so a coding agent such as Claude Code or Cursor can run a check after it ships a page and read the result itself. The agents page has the setup.
seogeoaeo.ai vs Scrunch AI
| Feature | seogeoaeo.ai | Scrunch AI |
|---|---|---|
| Entry price | $29 a month for 2,000 credits | $250 a month on Core |
| How you pay | Credits per run | 125 prompts and 5,000 answers a month, per brand |
| Engines | ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini | ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews, Copilot on Core; 8 or 9 on Enterprise |
| Scheduled tracking | No | Yes, about every 3 days at 125 prompts |
| Google AI Overviews | No | Yes |
| Cost per answer | About 58 cents on Indie | About 5 cents on Core |
| AI crawler traffic | Log you paste in, 8 credits | Connected through your CDN, on Core |
| Page checks | AI Crawler View, 8 credits a run | 5 site audits a month on Core |
| API and MCP | Both on every plan | MCP on any plan, per its docs; API from Agency |
You give up tracking over time. AI Answer Visibility takes one answer per engine, doesn't cover Google AI Overviews or AI Mode, and doesn't chart answers day by day. AI Bot Log Analyzer doesn't connect to your server or CDN, so you paste a new log each time, and AI Crawler View doesn't request the page as GPTBot, so it won't show a separate version served to bots. If you need 125 prompts checked on a schedule, a tracker below costs far less per answer.
2. SE Visible
Best for: more prompts, checked more often, for less than half of Core's price.
SE Visible, SE Ranking's AI tracker, costs $99 a month, or $79 billed annually, for 200 prompts refreshed daily on ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Mode, Perplexity and AI Overviews.
- Strengths: more prompts than Core, run daily instead of every few days, on Gemini and AI Mode, which Core doesn't cover. SE Visible counts about 30,000 answers a month on this plan, well under a cent each.
- Weaknesses: it doesn't track crawler traffic, and its API is in beta.
- Pricing: from $99 a month, with a 10-day trial.
3. AthenaHQ
Best for: more engines at about Scrunch's price.
AthenaHQ Starter costs $295 a month, or $245 billed annually, for 3,600 credits on 11 models, with unlimited seats.
- Strengths: Claude, Grok, DeepSeek, Meta AI and Mistral are on the entry plan, where Scrunch keeps most of them for Enterprise. Its MCP server can change prompts, as Scrunch's can.
- Weaknesses: those models cost 5 credits an answer, against 1 for ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot and Google's features. The API is a paid add-on.
- Pricing: from $295 a month.
Our AthenaHQ alternatives guide works out how far the credits go.
4. Goodie
Best for: daily tracking with agents that draft content.
Goodie Core costs $295 a month billed annually, or $354, for 110 prompts run daily on ChatGPT, AI Overviews, Perplexity, AI Mode and Copilot, with unlimited seats.
- Strengths: daily runs on five engines, AI Mode included, and agents that draft content and repair llms.txt files.
- Weaknesses: its MCP server is read-only, and Goodie keeps crawler analytics for Enterprise.
- Pricing: from $295 a month billed annually.
See our Goodie AI alternatives guide.
5. OtterlyAI
Best for: the smallest budget for daily tracking on Core's engines.
OtterlyAI Lite costs $29 a month, or $25 billed annually, for 15 daily prompts on the same 4 engines as Core, with unlimited seats. That's about 1.6 cents an answer.
- Strengths: Standard costs $189 for 100 prompts with the API, an MCP server and crawler analytics, still less than Core.
- Weaknesses: 15 prompts on Lite, and crawler analytics start at the $189 plan.
- Pricing: from $29 a month.
Our OtterlyAI alternatives guide compares its plans.
6. Rankscale
Best for: every engine on one plan, paid per run.
Rankscale Pro costs $99 a month for 1,200 credits, with every engine on every plan. A run on ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Mode or AI Overviews costs 0.25 credits, about 2 cents an answer.
- Strengths: Gemini and AI Mode on the $99 plan, and its MCP server works on every plan.
- Weaknesses: the REST API starts at Pro+, $229 a month.
- Pricing: from $99 a month.
Our Rankscale alternatives guide works out how far the credits go.
7. Peec AI
Best for: daily tracking of a 50-prompt list for under $100.
Peec AI Starter costs $95 a month, or $80 billed annually, for 50 prompts run daily on 3 engines you choose.
- Strengths: daily runs at well under half of Core's price, with an MCP server.
- Weaknesses: 3 engines on the entry plan, and API access is listed under Enterprise.
- Pricing: from $95 a month.
Our Peec AI alternatives guide compares it in detail.
8. MentionChecker
Best for: checking a set of questions every few weeks, with no subscription.
MentionChecker sells credit packs with no subscription. One credit is one answer from one engine, credits last 12 months, and the 100-credit pack costs $17, enough for 25 questions on ChatGPT, AI Overviews, Gemini and Perplexity.
- Strengths: nothing renews, and two more engines are optional.
- Weaknesses: it suits checks every few weeks rather than a schedule, and it doesn't state an API.
- Pricing: packs from $9.
Profound shows no price for brands and quotes Enterprise after a demo. Our Profound alternatives guide compares it with this group.
Scrunch AI pricing, and when it's still the right choice
| Plan | Monthly | Prompts | Answers a month | Engines | Brands | Seats |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Core | $250 | 125 | 5,000 | 4 | 1 | 5 |
| Agency Core | $500 | 250 | 10,000 | 4 | 3 | Unlimited |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | Custom | 8 or 9 | Multiple | Custom |
Core tracks one country, one language, one persona and 5 competitors. It includes 5 site audits a month, one page optimization a month, AI search trends on 3 topics, sentiment, and AI crawler traffic for your site, with a 7-day trial. Content generation and query fan-out are marked "coming soon". Extra seats cost $25 a month each, or $75 for 5 more.
Scrunch charges per brand: "Each brand tracked in Scrunch requires its own subscription", and tracking several brands on one account needs Enterprise. Annual discounts, worth two months, are for Enterprise only. If you go over your limits, the FAQ says "You won't lose access" and the team will reach out. It doesn't say what that costs.
Agency Core adds 3 pitch workspaces for prospects, marked "Partner Only", a Looker Studio connector and about 30 minutes of training. Enterprise adds the other engines, unlimited countries, custom personas, the API, SAML or OIDC sign-in and AXP, which serves AI crawlers a version of your pages built for them, delivered from the edge and refreshed on a schedule.
How far 5,000 answers go
Scrunch's prompt tooltip explains the math: "125 prompts across 4 models generates 500 responses per cycle." At 5,000 answers a month, that's 10 runs of every prompt, or one about every 3 days, if you use all 125. The pricing page doesn't state a schedule. With fewer prompts, each one can run more often within the same 5,000. A single run of a prompt is a sample either way, as why ChatGPT gives different answers explains, so judge by trends across many prompts.
The pricing page AI crawlers see
If you ask ChatGPT what Scrunch costs, it may quote plans that aren't on the pricing page. On October 17, 2026, we requested scrunch.com/pricing/ with the user agents of OpenAI's GPTBot crawler and its ChatGPT-User agent. Both got a short page of about 4,700 bytes. The response headers labeled GPTBot x-bot-type: training and ChatGPT-User x-bot-type: retrieval, and set x-bot-rule: serve_alternative for both. A browser got the full pricing page.
| Page people see | Page AI crawlers see | |
|---|---|---|
| Entry plan | Core, $250 a month | Starter, $300 a month or $250 billed annually |
| Next plan | Agency Core, $500 a month | Growth, $500 a month or $417 billed annually |
| Prompts on the entry plan | 125 | 350 custom and 1,000 industry prompts |
| Seats on the entry plan | 5 | 3 |
| Engines | 4 on Core, 8 or 9 on Enterprise | 7, including Claude, Gemini and Meta |
| Annual discount | Enterprise only | 17% on every plan |
| Trial | 7 days | 7 days of Starter, "no credit card required" |
So an assistant that reads Scrunch's pricing through its crawler may tell a buyer about plans the human page doesn't offer. This looks like the approach Scrunch sells as AXP, and it shows the risk: the bot version has to be updated every time the human page changes. If you serve AI crawlers different content, request your own pages with their user agents after every pricing or product change. Our guide to GPTBot lists the user agent strings.
Where Scrunch's pages disagree
Besides the bot version of the pricing page, Scrunch's own pages conflict in four places:
- Engines on Enterprise. The Enterprise card lists 9: ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, Meta AI, AI Mode, AI Overviews, Copilot and Grok. The plan table says "All (8)".
- MCP. The pricing table marks MCP as "coming soon" and not included on Core. The developer docs say it works on any plan.
- API on Agency. The pricing table lists the Query API on Agency Core as "Partner Only". The authentication docs say Agency accounts can create API keys.
- Brands. The FAQ says each brand needs its own subscription, while Agency Core includes 3 brand workspaces.
The human pricing page also doesn't say whether the trial needs a card. Ask Scrunch to confirm the engines, MCP access and API terms in writing before you commit.
Who should stay with Scrunch
Scrunch suits a brand that wants AI answer tracking and AI crawler traffic from its CDN in one plan. Core connects to Akamai, CloudFront, Cloudflare, Fastly, Vercel and WordPress to show which AI bots read which pages, and to GA4 or Adobe Analytics for visits referred by AI assistants. OtterlyAI keeps crawler analytics for its $189 plan and Goodie for Enterprise.
The MCP server, generally available since May 2026, signs in with OAuth and, per the docs, works on any plan. It reads metrics and answers, and it can also create brands, competitors, personas and prompts, where Goodie's MCP server only reads. The REST API, which keeps 90 days of query history, needs Agency or Enterprise. Scrunch also reports SOC 2 Type II, and five seats on Core cover a small team. Enterprise suits a large company that wants AXP, many brands or countries, and, for Sitecore customers, a vendor that is now part of the same company.
