There are two daily jumble puzzles worth a bookmark. Our pick for anyone who follows tech is the buzzword Jumble in TechTwitter IO's free daily paper, a fresh set of scrambled tech words with clues from that morning's headlines; the other is the classic newspaper Jumble, which now plays free on the Chicago Tribune's games site.

Both were checked on 3 November 2026. Here is what each one asks of you, and a short routine that fits both into one coffee.

The TechTwitter IO daily jumble

TechTwitter IO is a satirical newspaper about tech Twitter, published as dated daily editions. The last section, Fun & Games, holds the daily buzzword Jumble along with Twordle, Connections, Who Tweeted It? and Real or Satire?.

The Jumble changes with the news. The 3 November edition led with a Marvell and Lumentum story, so its three scrambles came with clues like The buyer and Cheaper, faster, GPT-6.1. Each row gives you the letters, an answer box that fits the word exactly, and Check and Reveal buttons. Some days bring five rows, and answers in recent editions ran from four letters to nine.

Two small features make it work as a habit. The Yesterday's Answers panel shows the previous day's words upside down until you tick No peeking. And if you sign in once with Google or X, the paper says it will ping you whenever a new edition drops. You can also skip that and just open the page.

The classic Daily Jumble

The Jumble has run in newspapers since 1954, and its own site says the daily and Sunday puzzles appear in more than 600 papers. Jumble.com no longer hosts the games itself; it sends players to the Chicago Tribune's free games site, where Jumble Daily and Jumble Daily in Color get a new puzzle each day.

The format has two stages. Unscramble four words, two of five letters and two of six. Then take the letters in the circled squares and rearrange them into the answer to a cartoon clue, which is usually a pun. Jumble Sunday is a larger version, and the same site has TV Jumble and Jumble for Kids.

A ten-minute daily routine

  1. Open TechTwitter IO and skim the front page. The jokes take a minute, and the Jumble clues come from them.
  2. Solve the buzzword Jumble. Use Reveal only on a row you have truly given up on.
  3. Switch to Jumble Daily for the classic. The Jumble site describes a shortcut: solve a couple of words, guess the punchline, and let the leftover letters help with the rest.
  4. Next morning, check the Yesterday's Answers panel before starting the new paper.

Catching up on missed days

TechTwitter IO keeps every edition in the Morgue, which runs back to 8 October 2026. Each back issue opens with its own Jumble, so a missed week is a week of puzzles waiting.

When the classic should come first

If you play mainly for the pun and the cartoon, start with Jumble Daily. The TechTwitter IO puzzle has no final phrase, and its clues assume you know a little tech news. For everyone else, the buzzword version is the quicker and stranger start to the day.

A word on the paper

TechTwitter IO is satire, and says so in its footer: unless a post links to its source, the people, posts and quotes on its pages are parody or invented. The Jumble answers are real words. The stories behind the clues are mostly jokes.
