Claude Code enterprise pricing: seats, API-rate usage and Team
Enterprise is $20 a seat plus metered usage with a 20-seat minimum; Team trades a higher seat price for fixed allowances. What 20 developers might cost on each.

Claude Code enterprise pricing, as of November 2026, is $20 per seat per month on an annual contract with at least 20 seats, plus every token your developers use at API rates. Smaller companies can buy Claude Team instead, where Claude Code usage comes out of a fixed allowance on each seat rather than a metered bill.
Both plans include Claude Code. The difference is how the money moves: Enterprise is a low seat fee with open-ended usage, and Team is a higher seat fee with usage rationed per person.
Team and Enterprise side by side
| Team | Enterprise | |
|---|---|---|
| Size | 2 to 150 people | 20-seat minimum |
| Seat price | Standard $25 a month ($20 yearly), premium $125 ($100 yearly) | $20 a seat a month, billed yearly |
| Claude Code usage | Drawn from each seat's five-hour and weekly allowance | Billed at API rates on top of seats |
| Going past the allowance | Usage credits at API rates, with spend limits | Admins set spend limits for users and the org |
| Reporting | Spend report CSV per user and model | Analytics API with per-user usage and cost |
| Identity and audit | SSO | SSO plus SCIM, audit logs and role-based access |
Figures come from Anthropic's pricing page and the Claude Code cost docs. A premium Team seat carries five times the usage of a standard one. Anthropic offers volume and committed-spend discounts on Enterprise through sales but does not publish the rates.
What 20 developers might cost
Anthropic publishes one benchmark for metered use: across enterprise deployments, Claude Code averages $150 to $250 per developer per month at API rates, around $13 per active day. Plug that into a 20-person rollout:
- Enterprise: $400 a month in seats, plus $3,000 to $5,000 in usage, so roughly $3,400 to $5,400 a month.
- Team with premium seats: $2,000 a month on yearly billing, with each developer limited by the seat allowance.
- Team with standard seats: $400 a month on yearly billing, with smaller allowances.
These are averages, not a quote. Teams that run parallel agents or automation will sit above them.
Controls finance will ask about
- Spend limits. On Team, admins turn on usage credits and cap them at the organization, group or member level. Enterprise admins set user and org limits on metered usage.
- Contracted rates. Claude Code shows cost at list price by default. A managed setting called
modelPricingmakes/usageand the status line report your negotiated rates instead, so developers see numbers that match the invoice more closely. - Mixed sign-in. If some developers use Console API keys, each person is metered by the method they logged in with. The Console gives Claude Code its own workspace with its own spend limit.
Run a pilot before you sign
Anthropic's own advice is to start with a small pilot group and establish a baseline before a wider rollout. The catch is that you want those numbers before you choose a plan, not after.
For that stage, UsageAtlas is the practical pick. Each developer installs the free, open-source desktop app on Windows, macOS or Linux, and it reads Claude Code's local logs to show tokens by model and day with an estimated cost at list prices, plus their five-hour and weekly windows if they are on a plan. Nobody needs an account, and it does not read prompts or responses, which makes the security conversation simpler. After two weeks you have real per-developer numbers to set against the seat math above.
UsageAtlas is a personal dashboard, not an org billing tool. Once you are on Team or Enterprise, Anthropic's spend report or Analytics API is the record for finance.
Which one to buy
If you need fewer than 20 seats, Team is the plan built for your size, since Enterprise starts at 20. Above that, compare the pilot's average estimated monthly cost per developer with a premium seat: if most people come in well under $100 a month, metered Enterprise usage is likely cheaper, and if they run past it, Team's fixed allowances keep the bill predictable. Companies that need SCIM, audit logs or a HIPAA-ready setup will land on Enterprise either way.
