What the Schema Markup Checker checks
Validate a page’s JSON-LD against Google’s rich result rules and see which schema.org types the page should add. Paste JSON-LD to check markup before it ships; pasted markup is checked instead of the live page.
- JSON-LD blocks that fail to parse
- Missing required and recommended properties for rich results
- schema.org types the page should add
- Pasted JSON-LD, checked before it ships
What it does not do
- Microdata or RDFa
- Google’s Rich Results Test itself
- Writing the markup for you
Questions about the Schema Markup Checker
- How is this different from Google's Rich Results Test?
- Google's Rich Results Test has the final word on rich result eligibility. This checker applies Google's documented rules, also suggests schema.org types the page is missing, and checks pasted markup before you publish it.
- Does it read Microdata or RDFa?
- No, it reads JSON-LD, the format Google recommends. For product pages, the Product Schema Checker also reads Microdata.
- Will valid markup get my page rich results?
- Valid markup makes a page eligible, but Google decides whether to show a rich result. Some types, such as FAQ results, appear only for a narrow set of sites.
- How much does the Schema Markup Checker cost?
- 8 credits per run, shown before the run starts. An AI agent can run the same tool over the REST API or MCP with a workspace API key.
